Well I am finally writing about our little #3... I can say that after his birth I feel pretty good and recovery was fast. What I am finding is having a third is the adjustment of having 3. We are out numbered now. So it seems to take me longer to get things done and get out of the house. Not sure if I thought it would be this much fun to get into the routine of having 3 little ones on my hands. Getting in to a routine has been the biggest adjustment for me. But regardless of that having our little one in our hands is just simply amazing. So now to introduce our sweet bundle of joy...
Deklin Joseph Harrison
Born January 15, 2013
Weight: 7 lbs 10 oz
He came just as planned and everything went very smoothly. The surgery went fast and there were no complications, my blood pressure dropped a little but with a little extra oxygen it came up and I was fine. Deklin came ready to do everything he was supposed to. He had no problems knowing what to do. He gave us a little scare when the first night he kept gagging and had a lot of fluid he was choking on. So we asked about it and the nurses were able to suction him out and he was fine. He just didn't get it all out at birth, found out it is common in c-section babies. We got to go home early on the third day and we were so happy to get home. I heal so much better when I'm home.
Brody and Camilla love being big brother and big sister. They are so willing to take care of him when ever he needs it or doesn't need it. It has taken a little while for them to understand that babies cry. They are not fond of all of his crying which I admit that it can be a lot (he is colicky). But they are figuring out and will now say that is how the baby talks, and they will tell all of their little friends that. They love being able to hug and kiss Deklin and always want to look at his eyes. They love it when they can get him to smile and look at them. They are great big helpers and are willing to help if it involves doing something for Deklin, helping me on the other hand, that is a different story.
So two weeks after getting home everyone in the house ended up with a cold and or the flu or both. Brody and Camilla tested positive for the flu b strain. We believe Mike brought this yucky stuff home from the hospital. We were trying so hard to keep Deklin healthy and he was doing great until I finally got it and then he got it. He then got it and he was having some much trouble breathing and he was not eating well so I took him in on a Saturday and the Doctor said he had RSV and he was going to have to be admitted to the hospital. I being a very hormonal new mom started to cry, but put my big girl panties on and took him. This was scary because you always hear all the bad crazy things about such a young baby getting RSV and all of the complications. We found out fast how much of a fighter our little Deklin is. He was so good in the hospital and just put up with all of the poking and prodding, we only were in the hospital 3 days and on oxygen at home for a weekish. We were told he could be on the oxygen for 3 months. I know the Lord was watching over our little one.
We just love this little guy!!!!
