The 4th

We had a great time getting together with my Uncle Mel and his family. We had a great BBQ and then went to Murray park to watch the fireworks. This was Brody's first fireworks and we were not sure how he would react. He HATES loud noises so we thought he would freak out about them. Well he did not, he actually slept right through them. He did wake up during the last couple of minutes of the fireworks and he was just fine with them. I guess we as parents worry too much about our little guy and don't want him to be afraid.

So funny thing as we were watching the fireworks, I realized that pretty much no one was making a noise. It was so quit, there was an occasional ooh and aah. But they were very soft. I thought it was very strange from what I am used to. There was not even any music. The fireworks on the 4th really need the 1812 overture to make it all seem real. With the cannons shaking the ground beneath you. Now that is the best. And there were no drunks making fools of themselves mud wrestling or thinking they are superman and flying off coolers and landing on their faces. It was really weird.

I'm with ya there! We have only been to the fireworks once since we have lived here...too hot...but we did go to Heber to see them this year and loved them. The only thing missing was 1812 oveture, people clapping and oooing and aweing, and music during the fire works. But they are the best we have seen in AZ. The coolest part is they did remind me of CO...they went on for 25 minutes...and we were kind of in between to hills (large hills) so we got the intial boom and then the echo. LOVE YOU GUYS!
